Tokyo Advanced Nurturing High School is a dreamlike institution boasting a 100% advancement and employment rate, where students receive 100,000 yen worth of points every month.
However, behind its ideal facade lies a strict meritocracy in which only top-performing students are granted special privileges.
After rising to Class C in the third semester of their first year, Ayanokoji and his classmates take on the final special exam of the year, only to narrowly lose to Class A and fall back down to Class D.
Their second year begins once again from the bottom.
Following spring break, Ayanokoji and Karuizawa become a couple, while Suzune parts ways with her past self who idolized her talented older brother, Manabu.
As relationships gradually shift, the students move forward into their second year.
